JavaScript Job: Software QA Analyst

As our QA Analyst, you will work to ensure the quality of Patronscan's proprietary fake ID detection technology meet high-quality standards and are fully functional.

Here at Patronscan, we are expanding our presence on multiple fronts, continuously improving the security of sensitive transactions for patrons worldwide. You will work closely with the Development, Design, and Product teams to ensure the highest quality of functionality is reached before it is deployed for our clients to use globally. A person with a passion for identity management, designing and executing test plans, identifying development bugs, and testing new up-and-coming products will truly enjoy the day-to-day activities of this role.

Important Facts

• Role is located in Calgary, AB with in-office work schedule to start. Candidates must be able to relocate if successful.
• Estimated start Date: March 2023 or when successful candidate is found.
• This role will report to VP of Operations.
• Successful candidate must complete a criminal background check.
• This a junior role with large growth opportunities within the QA team.

Day to Day Responsibilities

• Ensure functionality of new features prior to release.
• Good understanding of customer use cases and interests.
• Documentation and tracking of issues and bugs; relentlessly move each bug through its life cycle.
• Have end-to-end ownership of quality features (from functional through automation).
• Execution and maintenance of manual test plans within our Continuous Integration pipelines.
• Utilize and help improve our software development life cycle process.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Developers, UI/UX Designers and Clients.
• Other job duties as assigned.

This role does not require much lifting but occasionally when required, you may be required to lift various office supplies of up to 10lbs.

This role is within a hybrid working environment where you will be expected to sit or stand at a desk for hours at a time depending on structure of that day.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline is preferred and considered an asset.
• 1-2 years of experience performing manual validations against web-based applications.
• Strong communication skills to contribute working in a team environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Must have a passion for QA and ensuring a high level of functionality.
• Natural level of personal investment in the quality of work they do and works to match the work of the team.
• Focusing on personal development by determining goals that will best serve you, which in turn will translate into results for the business.
• Enjoys working in an intimate team setting and has a "all-for-one, one-for-all" mentality.
